Let’s Chat is Amanda Heng’s seminal and ongoing project that creates a sanctuary for conversations; where thoughts – fleeting, mundane or immediate – may come together and connect, perhaps transforming the casual to an intimate space of mutual empathy. What started as an original premise on “rediscovering the simpler joys of kampong life” in 1996 developed into a series of distinct reiterations examining ways of storytelling, the individual and collective’s constructs toward the costs of economic progress and the mobility of these interaction’s afterlives. Let’s Chat has since then been presented in shopping malls, markets, and other museums.
Now presented in the exhibition Radio Malaya: Abridged Conversations About Art, participate in Let's Chat which will run from 10am - 6pm at the gallery on the following Thursdays: 23 Feb, 23 Mar, 20 Apr, 20 Jul, 24 Aug, 21 Sep, 19 Oct and 23 Nov.
