Book Making | Camping and Tramping Through The Museum
Craftiness and creativity was in the air again as we held our last Book-Making for Children session at the Museum last weekend. Once again, we brought the children out on a little field trip through our exhibition Camping & Tramping through the Colonial Archives: The Museum in Malaya, where they sketched and coloured their favourite objects to their hearts’ content. No surprises here as our Indian Pilot Whale skeleton exhibit was the crowd favourite!
Back upstairs in La Libreria, book artist Eriko Hirashima taught the children to create simple books from the notes using just sticks and rubber bands. She also taught them to make origami flowers, leaves and rockets to decorate the covers and pages of their notes.
It has been a great Children’s Season here at the NUS Museum! Thank you once again to all the kiddies and parents who joined us for the past few weeks. We loved having you with us and we hope to see you back again for future programmes!
