Children's Season | Batik Painting in the Tropical Garden

The June holidays are here and last Saturday, NUS Museum launched the first of our Children's Seasons programmes with Batik-Making in the Tropical Garden! 30 kiddies and their parents made their way to the museum to learn more about the art of Batik and the artist Ng Eng Teng, whose mural Asian Symphony was the inspiration for the batik piece. Guided by artist-instructor, Kamal Dollah, the kiddies worked hard all morning together to fill up the 5m long canvas with colour paints. Not wanting to be left out of the fun, their parents also tried their hand at painting and waxing the canvas. Thanks to everyone for their enthusiastic participation in the session, we could not have completed the batik without everyone's contributions!
