Peranakan Communities in the Era of Decolonization and Globalization is a co-publication of NUS Baba House and Chinese Heritage Centre. It presents the papers from a conference in September 2013 about the Peranakan Chinese communities within Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore at the cusp of independence and beyond. Case studies examine individual and collective responses to changing circumstances in the areas of politics, culture and economy.
